We begin our tour in the country's capital, Amman. In its historic centre we will visit the Citadel and its Temple of Hercules, the Odeon, the Nymphaeum and the Roman theatre, the Al Hussein Mosque and stroll through its bustling souks.
We spent our second day discovering the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Jerash. Highlights include Hadrian's Arch, the oval square, its two theatres, the Temple of Zeus, Cardo Maximus, etc.
We drive to Madaba, the city of mosaics, and Mount Nebo, where, according to biblical writings, Moses sighted the Promised Land. In the afternoon we relax on a beach at the Dead Sea.
Still at the Dead Sea, we make the refreshing excursion to Wadi Mujib, going up the river that crosses its canyon. After lunch, we visit the castle of Al Karak, located on the so-called Road of the Kings.
Early in the morning we visit Little Petra, before entering the famous Petra through its ‘back door’. From this point we discover the Monastery, the Street of Façades, the Treasury and the entrance to the Siq.
On the second day in Petra, before moving on to Wadi Rum, we climbed up to one of the viewpoints of the Treasury, up to the High Place of Sacrifice and down through the Wadi Farasa canyon, to come out again by the Siq.
We booked a 24-hour excursion to spend the night in a camp in the middle of the desert and drive through the most interesting places in Wadi Rum, such as its natural stone bridges, canyons, etc., in 4x4 vehicles.
We arrive in Aqaba with the aim of swimming in the Red Sea and snorkelling. We put on our swimming costumes and snorkelling goggles and see the coral reef and countless colourful fish in Japanese Garden.
We head north back towards Amman. On the way, we take a short hike in the Dana Biosphere Reserve and take a relaxing dip in the thermal waters of Ma'in Hot Springs.
We spent the morning of our last day of the trip doing some shopping in the Al-Sukar souk. Before heading to the airport, we visited Bethany, considered to be the location of Jesus' baptism by the Jordan River.
